    Why Vituvi is Different

We tell you what others won't.

Most personality sites make money by telling you what you want to hear. We'd rather tell you what's true, even when that means pointing out the limits of the very tests we offer.

We think that's more interesting, more useful, and ultimately more respectful of your time.

    • If you take the official MBTI elsewhere, you would be charged £40+ per person. If you took it again a few weeks later (for another £40) you would be 40-50% likely to get a different result! We'll show you your type code and tell you exactly what that means.
    • The Big Five is the most scientifically validated personality framework in existence. It's what your results are actually based on, not Myers-Briggs.
    • Our ADHD screening is based on DSM-5 criteria. It's a useful starting point, not a diagnosis. We tell you clearly what to do next if your results suggest further investigation.
    • We show you which traits are relatively fixed, and which can genuinely change with time and effort. That distinction actually matters.

    The Science

    What the research actually says

    The Big Five / OCEAN

The Big Five is the most scientifically validated personality framework in existence. Unlike most popular personality tests, it emerged from decades of independent research across cultures and languages, not from a single theory. Your scores reflect where you genuinely sit on five continuous traits that predict real-world outcomes: career satisfaction, relationship quality, health behaviours, and more. These aren't types or boxes; they're spectrums, and most people land somewhere in the middle of most of them. The research also shows that while these traits are partly inherited and relatively stable, some - particularly Conscientiousness and Agreeableness - shift meaningfully over a lifetime, especially with deliberate effort or life experience.

MBTI - useful shorthand, flawed science

The four-letter type code you'll receive is culturally ubiquitous and scientifically contentious. The official MBTI instrument costs upwards of £40 per person and requires a certified administrator. More importantly, research consistently shows that between 40–50% of people receive a different four-letter result when retested just a few weeks later. That's not because people change; it's because personality traits exist on continuous spectrums, and forcing them into binary categories loses a lot of information. The type code here is derived from your Big Five scores, which are more reliable and more predictive. Think of your letters as a useful shorthand and conversation starter. Just don't use them to make hiring decisions or explain why you can't do the washing up.
