    ENTP
    The Debater
    Inventive, provocative, ideas-first

ENTPs are energised by ideas, arguments, and the pleasure of thinking fast in the company of other people who can keep up. They genuinely enjoy being challenged - not from masochism but because a good counter-argument is the thing most likely to produce a better idea. They tend to be generalists by nature, finding connections between disparate fields and experiencing real discomfort with the narrowing that specialisation demands. At their best, they are the people who see possibilities that everyone else has missed. At their most exhausting, they are the people who have pivoted to a new plan before the last one had a chance to prove itself.

High Openness and Extraversion with lower Conscientiousness is the underlying trait pattern here - and the research is fairly consistent on what this predicts: high creativity and social energy alongside genuine difficulty with sustained, disciplined execution. ENTPs often describe the experience of being interested in everything and expert in nothing, which is simultaneously liberating and maddening. The most effective ENTPs tend to have either found a domain broad enough to contain their curiosity, or built structures and partnerships that compensate for their native resistance to routine.

A note on this result: The ENTP classification is derived from your Big Five scores, not from the official MBTI instrument. Research consistently shows that 40–50% of people receive a different four-letter type on retesting - not because they've changed, but because binary type labels sit on top of continuous trait spectrums. Your OCEAN scores on the results page are the more reliable and scientifically meaningful numbers. The type code is a useful lens, not a fixed identity.
